Otter @ Isle Of Mull

TheTamshee: signs off a great year for photography with the hypnotic appeal of the Dog Otter at Isle Of Mull. They have long, slim bodies and relatively short limbs, with webbed paws. Most have sharp claws on their feet, and all except the sea otter have long muscular tails. It was a great pleasure to spend some time around the lochs of the Isle Of Mull, photographing these creatures of the coastline.

Peregrine Falcon (Falco Peregrinus)

TheTamshee: has been spending some quality time observing the behaviour of a pair of Peregrine Falcons. These raptors are at the top end of the food chain when it comes to birds of prey. They are regarded as the fastest animal in the world during its characteristic hunting stoop. They feed almost exclusively on medium-sized birds such as pigeons, doves, waterfowl and songbirds but will hunt bats in the hours of darkness if food is in short supply. Click Here to check out Tamshee's Photography and see more wonderful images of these majestic raptors.

Short Eared Owls

TheTamshee: spent a wet and blustery day in the company of Ron McCombe; scanning some northumberland grassland in search of Short Eared Owls. As the light faded late into the afternoon, we were rewarded with a flurry of activity when the local farmer and some duck hunters disturbed the hedgerow habitat frequented by these magnificient silent predators. There was a number of short eared owls spooked which spiralled and swopped into the strong south westerly wind but I turned my attention to one owl which had taken a perch on the wire fence post.

Snowy Morning @ Inchgarth

TheTamshee: spent the morning clearing the first december snow fall from the drive at Inchgarth; but it does offer up the opportunity for some Xmas card photography.

Scott's Selkirk

TheTamshee & kids wandered along Selkirk high street to check out Scott's Selkirk for some winter cheer on this cold december morning. Originally conceived as a millennium project that proved so popular it has become an important annual event - celebrating the life and times of Sir Walter Scott.

Sunset @ Sea

TheTamshee: was able to capture these photographs of the sunset while working offshore, Norfolk. The navigation light represents man-made artificial light versus the natural light from the flaming fire ball!!

Tamshee's Red Kite, a set on Flickr.

TheTamshe: visited Argaty hide @ Lerrocks Farm on saturday but the kites were being elusive; not feeding on the scrapes until late in the afternoon when the light had faded. Returned on monday with much better results; with the kites flocking in big numbers for the few spectators that stayed a bit longer.
